Participants experience artistic dance in a professional environment and will take up to five classes per day. Please see the detailed schedule for more information.
We meet early in the day and begin with a thorough contemporary class which will warm us up, give a keen technical challenge and advance our expressive capacities as dance artists.
We break for a lunch and then split into tracks for the first afternoon class. Participants will choose from Dance for the Camera, or Special Topics.
Check out the space we’ll be dancing in, as well as photos from previous years’ festivals! Photo gallery here.
We have offered scholarships in years past — hear about previous recipients’ experiences, and apply for a scholarship this year.
Specials Options Include:
Dance for the Camera is fast-paced and exciting. Compose a shot, devise a unique cinematic moment, create your own dance film! For the special topic track, each day will feature a new topic.
Enrich your practice of improvisation with expert guidance, or learn new sophisticated partnering skills. Try a fusion of hip-hop and contemporary with award-winning artists.
We move together into rehearsal with our special guest artist and build a spectacular work of art from 2:30-5:30.
At the close of the day we explore World Dance. Dancers finish the day exhilarated!
These are full days of dance. Dancers should bring their own lunch, snacks and beverages. Water will be available and the spaces are climate controlled.
Some dance experiences will take place outside, so bring good shoes for walking as well as dance shoes.
